Call Me Clark

I love Christmas. One of the things I look most forward to each holiday season it breaking out our Christmas Vacation DVD the day after Thanksgiving. I'm pretty sure last year I posted something almost identical to what I am posting now....and for good reason.

Here is one of my favorite quotes from Christmas Vacation:
Clark: "We're kicking off our fun old fashion family Christmas by heading out into the country in the old front-wheel drive sleigh to embrace the frosty majesty of the winter landscape and select that most important of Christmas symbols."

I love a good tradition and following in the Griswold's family footsteps is an honor.

On December 3rd we loaded up the May family stay-wag with blankets, tarps, rope, hot chocolate and Christmas music. We met La, Stentz and the kids at the Walgreens parking lot in Castle Rock and caravaned down to Pike National Forrest to find "the" tree. This year it took us a little longer than last, but it was well worth the search. When we saw her, we knew she was the one. On our way home we stopped at Rudy's BBQ in Colorado Springs....just like last year. The food (and company) was a-mazing.
