Cabo San Lucus, Mexico – 11.8-11.12.09

Eric and I (sans Diggy) had planned a vacation to get some much needed R&R in Playa Del Carmen, Mexico from November 10-14th. As per usual, a few days before we left I tuned to the weather channel to make sure our vacation was going to be filled with sun, sun, and more SUN! To my surprise the forecast was rainy, cloudy and windy. Turns out that hurricane Ida was quickly approaching south of Mexico and Playa Del Carmen was right in its path. Thanks, but no thanks. I’m not spending THAT much money on a rainy vacation! So, I called our travel agent who jumped through a dozen hoops to get our vacation moved from Playa Del Carmen to Cabo. I have to admit that I didn’t really want to go to Cabo…after all…we go to Playa every year for a reason…WE LOVE IT! But, Cabo’s forecast was sunny, sunny, hot, and sunny. So, decision made. And after all the work (and extra fee’s to change the flight) we’ve decided that Cabo is just as wonderful as Playa! We definitely plan on returning!

The resort we stayed at the RIU Place (all inclusive, about 40 minutes south of the airport). Below are photos of the trip. I’ve provided captions below the photos, but there isn’t much else to tell since every day was the same, in the same order:

Wake up (not make the bed)
Watch the sunrise
Go to breakfast (nothing to prepare, nothing to clean up)
Workout (on the treadmill – sea breeze in my face and a view of the ocean)
Sit at the pool (or the beach)
Read
Nap
Snack
Read
Go to lunch (nothing to prepare, nothing to clean up)
Read
Nap
Snack
Nap some more
Go to dinner (nothing to prepare, nothing to clean up)
Sit on the beach
Watch the sunset
Go to bed (the room was cleaned by housekeeping…sigh…so nice!)

One night we walked the beach to downtown Cabo and went to “the mall”. It was pretty nice, actually. But, since we were staying at an all-inclusive we decided to head back to the resort for dinner.

It was the perfect vacation and we’ll definitely be back! Maybe next time, with Davis.

While we were in Cabo, Davis spent 2 ½ days with grandma and grandpa (my parents) and 2 ½ days with MiMi and Pa-Pow (Eric's parents). I would imagine that as much as they LOVED having Davis spend time with them, they were all exhausted and the end of the day!

Does this one really need a caption?

Sunrise - one of many.

Don't we look relaxed?

The infinity pool & ocean (I took this one!).
