May Family Fun...May 2013

May was a fun month! We returned from our trip to Maui on the 2nd then celebrated moms, field day, the last day of school, Uncle Jay's visit, my grandma's 80th birthday and Davis' first triathlon.

Every year Davis' preschool does a Mother's Day brunch at the school. This year is was on May 7th and Davis made me a card and a flower pot that he decorated. At the brunch we sat next to his teacher, Ms. Sarah, and his best buddy at school, Ty.

On May 10th The Rock had their first ever field day. It was a fun morning filled with activities like a water relay and bean bag toss. They also had snow cones and a bubble blowing station. It was so much fun to watch and I love the t-shirts Ms. Sarah had the kids make for the day.

This ear we celebrated Mother's Day at NoNo's cafe. YUM!They have the best beignets  have ever tasted! For Mother's Day Davis got me a Micky Mouse/Mini Mouse wallet for our Disney vacations (he and daddy went shopping) and a mug with his hand print (from when he and grandma went shopping).

On Sunday, May 19th Davis had his first triathlon. The race was at Butterfield Park in Castle Rock and started at 11:30 am. It was so fun to see him swim, bike and run in a race. The age group he raced in was age 5-7 (most kids were 6 and 7) and he placed 17 out of 51 racers. He completed the entire race is exactly 10 minutes (swim, 1:00, bike, 5:40, run 3:20).

The swim (one length of the pool).

Biking (one long loop around Butterfield Park).

Wednesday, May 22nd was the last day of school, and marked the last day of preschool for Davis. Next year.....KINDERGARTEN!

May 22nd was also a big day for us in our journey to adopting a baby. At 3:00 our case worker Rachel visited us in our home for our final home study meeting and a home safety inspection. We were really excited that the final interview day had arrived!

Uncle Jay and Alycia came into town over Memorial Day weekend and came to Davis' baseball game in Parker. This is such a cute photo of Davis and uncle Jay.

On May 29th my grandma turned 80! We celebrated her birthday at The Original House of Pancakes. It was a fun breakfast and when we asked her what he words of advice were for a happy life, she said "Do the things you enjoy and kiss your husband more". She wished she had kissed my grandpa more.

Happy 80th grandma!
