After a break from swim lessons for the summer, Davis wanted to restart lessons again in September (I think it's because he knew we were going on the Disney Cruise and he wanted to be able to swim out to Pelican Plunge at Castaway Cay). We registered him for the Youth 3 class. We had to register with the swim department manager because kids need to be 6 to register for the class (he is 4). He is a little fish and we are so proud of him! In this class Mr. Matt (his teacher) let them go down the water slides on the last day of class. The height requirement for the water slides is 48" and Davis measures himself every time we go to the pool. Needless to say, he was super excited to get to go on the slides despite being shorter than 48".

We celebrated Eric's 36th birthday with family at (wait for it....) The Rio.  Davis and I also made him a cake (I made the cake, Davis picked out the theme - soccer - and decorated it himself). For gifts, Davis painted him a picture with Lightning McQueen and I got him Trey's new album, Traveler.

Davis was chosen to be the Start Student at school the week of September 24th. The week prior to being picked Start Student he explained to us that the previous Star Student got to pick the next one. Davis started crying when he was telling us this because he thought that no one was going to pick him. It broke my heart a little because I knew how badly he wanted to be picked for Star Student and he didn't quite understand that eventually he would be picked. All the tears were for not; he was picked to be Star Student the next week.
