Davis' First Day of (Pre)School - August 17, 2011

Davis' first day of school was a very exciting day for all of us! Growing up Sara (my sister) and I always got to pick out a new outfit for the first day of school. This year Mimi (Eric's mom) wanted to take him  shopping so he could have a new outfit. He went to Osh Kosh and picked out a soccer shirt and shorts.  A few weeks earlier he picked out a back pack (sports theme, of course) and lunch box.

Each day Davis takes his backpack to school with his lunch, water bottle, change of clothes and blue folder. After each school day we go through all the fun stuff he did that day (worksheets, artwork, etc.) and any other fun things Ms. Cara sent home like scholastic book orders, the monthly newsletter, upcoming field trips, etc.

Here are some "before school" photos from his first day.

Growing up my mom had a tradition of taking a half day off of work to bake us chocolate chip cookies right after school. She even sent us chocolate chip cookies in a care package on our first day of school each year in college. It's a tradition I've always wanted to keep. So, I invited my mom to come with me to pick Davis up from school and make chocolate chip cookies. The tradition did not disappoint.

Here are some "after school" photos from his first day:
