That's Just How I Roll

The person who can come up with a quick, easy AND organized way to manage, preserve and organize all our our children's "treasure" will be filthy rich. While Martha Stewart and The Container Store offer thousands of ways to organize...only us moms (yeah, I said moms...I'll change my post if you can show me a dad who either (A) worries about this stuff, or, (B) takes an initiative to get it all organized). What? Silence from you? That's what I thought.


Ahem...as I was saying...there is no single organizational system or box you can buy that will sift through the thousands of priceless treasures we have that our children have made, worn or received. But, you can rest assured that if someone is trying to organize all these wonderful treasures...it's me. That's just how I roll.

I've been keeping all of Davis' treasures in a box - not really knowing what I would do with them (or when, for that matter). The best system I could come up with was a "treasure box" idea I heard about where you keep one box of treasures per year. I'm not a pack rat (sometimes I wonder if I keep enough) so I thought a 14" x 14" x 4" box would work perfectly. And, it does! I'm not quite sure what happens when we have more than one child..maybe one box per child? Or bigger boxes? We'll (I'll) cross that bridge when we (I) get to it.

As I'm typing this Eric just got home. I stopped blogging to show him how excited I was about my project! His "looks great" doesn't even come close to captioning how much work and love I put into this. Some day he will thank me. ;0)
