This year the holiday started early with me running to King Soopers at 6:00 am in search for newspapers with the Black Friday ads. Got 'em! Actually, I got three of them. Sara, mom and I all needed our OWN papers. Luckily Char had hers delivered to the house so she got a few extra ads that we didn't have.
After making sure I had the newspapers I made an Ebilskiver breakfast. I'm starting a new tradition (I LOVE traditions). Every holiday morning I'm going to make Ebilskivers. Yum! Not sure what I'm talking about? They are little round pancakes with fillings. I have a few photos below but you can learn all about them at Williams Sonoma.
We went over to mom's house at 11:00 and a delicious traditional Thanksgiving meal was served at 11:30. We ate turkey, cranberries, celery with pineapple cream cheese, mashed potatoes, corn, rolls, green beans, pumpkin pie, pecan pie AND chocolate silk pie. De-lish!
After the meal we put Davis down for his nap and the Black Friday ads came out. Picture four women at a table, each with a stack of ads, and a mission to find the perfect gifts at 4:00 the next morning. You can only imagine!
After we devoured the ads we made our plan for Black Friday. I was going to go to Kohl's at 4:00 am and meet mom and Sara at 5:00 am at Target. I wish I had taken photos of the line we waited in at Target. Oh, and when I got to Kohl's at 4:07, the parking lot was already full. Luckily they still had what I was after. Success!!
Here are some photos from the day:
The Ebilskiver pan.
The actual Ebilskivers (chocolate filled with chocolate on top).
All of us around the table. We went around the table and said what we are thankful for. Me? I'm most thankful for my health, my family, and Eric working so hard so that I can spend time at home with Davis!
