Our 2nd Annual Start Lighting Tradition

Last year we started a tradition with the Whitaker family. We get together for Castle Rock's yearly star lighting (a big star they light every year that sits on top of the Castle Rock) and have dinner at Castle Cafe.

This year we got to the downtown Castle Rock festivities early so we could see the live nativity set, firetrucks, and partake in all the holiday festivities. The good news - we got a GREAT seat at Castle Cafe just as Laura and I had so carefully planned (we were really worries about getting a table at Castle Cafe since it is downtown Castle Rock and a local favorite). The bad news - we were enjoying dinner so much (okay, and our timing to get a great seat wasn't THAT great of a plan) we missed the star lighting AND the fireworks.

Next year we'll need a new plan.
