Thanksful

Every night after we say our "Now I lay me down to sleep..." prayer, we ask Davis what he is thankful for. Most of the time he names random people, places and things. While I'm not sure that he understands what being thankful is...all the things he lists are things he really likes...so I know he sort of understands. Monday night I put him down to sleep in a bit of a rush. After our prayer I kissed him and started to walk away. As I walked away he said "thanksful for". Bless his little heart. He knows the routine and was getting ready to tell me what he was thankful for. So, I dried the the tear running down my cheek and called for Eric. We went back to his crib where he proceeded to tell us what he was "thanksful for"...Mommy/Daddy, Thomas the Train and Uncle Chris. Random, and totally adorable.
