Disney Dream Cruise November 10-15, 2012

On November 10th we flew to Orlando with Chris and Char and we all set sail on the Disney Cruise the next day. The Disney Dream is one of Disney's newest ships and just as you would expect, it was practically perfect in every way (you get 10 Disney points if you know what movie that is from)!

When we arrived at the port the ship was an awesome sight and we could hardly wait to board. When we entered the ship they Disney cast welcomed us by name and that is when the magic began. The first thing we did was find our way to the Aqua Duck water slide. It was one of the highlights of the trip (if you ask Davis, Eric or Chris) and the lines were so short that Davis got to ride it as many times as he wanted. After swimming we found our room (which was very spacious for a cruise ship). Eric and I had a queen bed and Davis has a bunk bed. It is probably the most comfortable bed I have ever slept in. On our first day we also explored the children's area - Oceaneer's Club and Lab. The kids activities ranged from science experiments to movies to dress up and video games. One room looked like it was straight out of the movie Toy Story (Andy's room) and the other Monster's Inc. We spent the rest of the evening exploring the ship, eating at Animator's Palette and watching the Golden Mickey Awards show. Simply magical!

The next day we arrived in Nassau, Bahamas. Eric and Davis stayed on the ship (to swim and ride the Aqua Duck) while Chris, Char and I did a little shopping. We spent the rest of the day relaxing, swimming and eating ice cream.

The following day we arrived at Castaway Cay. This island was by far the highlight of the trip. It was pure paradise....done only the way Disney can do it. We went down the water slides at Pelican 's Plunge more times than I can count, watched the crab races, ate the best BBQ I've had in a really long time, collected sea shells, relaxed by the ocean and snorkeled. Davis, ever the adventurer, also snorkeled. He went out as far as we did and loved it. We only saw a few fish and clam shell and some seaweed, but it was an adventure!

The last day was our day at sea. It was nice to have a day to lounge around the pool and nap.

The Disney cruise was an amazing trip and we had so much fun sharing the experience with Chris and Char. The food was amazing, the service impeccable, and some of our favorite things were eating Mickey ears ice cream bars, ordering cookies and milk each night before bed, watching Davis swim in the pool while we watched the Tunnel Vision TV drinking hot cocoa, and all the Disney magic hidden in every nook and cranny on the ship.

Here are (more than a few) photos from the trip (these aren't in exact order, but it's close):
