Projects, Projects and MORE Projects

What started off as a harmless house project has turned into more projects, more projects, and even MORE projects. It all started with the granite counter tops we had put in this past spring. Apparently when you get granite counter tops you start feeling (okay, you all know that by "you" I mean "me") like you need crown moulding on the cabinets. And brushed nickel knobs and pulls. And a remodeled fireplace. And hardwood floors. And new base boards. And new furniture. And a revamped powder room. Seriously. This has gotten totally out of hand!

At the end of the day we've had a lot (a LOT) of challenges with contractors (unfinished work, broken appliances, repairmen scratching the new floors, etc.) but it has all been totally worth it! Here are some photos of our projects. Well, all but the new couches.

This is a photo of Davis and I eating our lunch on my bed. We had lots of "picnics" since our downstairs was unlivable for a week.

A few disclaimers:

1. I realize that the "before" photos are like the "before" photos on TV - you know the ones where the model has no make-up, bed hair and looks like she hasn't had her morning coffee. Truth be told - it would take a lot of work to dig up old photos of how the rooms looked with furniture so I took the easy way out and used the photos I had on hand (without furniture right before the carpet was ripped out).

2. The "after" rooms aren't complete yet. We still need rugs and a few other items.

3. The leather couches are the ones we are replacing. I'll post a new photo when we get them in 8-12 weeks.
