This One Goes in the Baby Book

Davis' first concert...Willie Nelson! Yep. Say what you will about us taking a two year old to a concert....but he had a BLAST! For those of you who are thinking it...yes he had ear muffs, yes we steered clear of the grass smoke, and no, we didn't keep him out too late.

Yesterday after Davis' nap we packed our bags, grabbed our tickets and headed out for an early dinner at Woody's Pizza in Golden...my all time favorite restaurant. After dinner we drove a few short miles to what I consider to be the best place on Earth to see a live music performance....Red Rocks. Willie Nelson's son was the first opening act and another band played...and FINALLY...at 9:30 PM Willie graced us with his presence. His opening song..."Whiskey River"... ahhh ... how I love Willie. I told Eric that if we ever have a little girl I plan to name her Georgia. If you love Willie, then you know why.

Since Willie didn't come on until 9:30, we only heard a few songs before we left, but it was worth every single penny that they charges (And yes, a two year old is required to have a ticket. And, no, there is no discount). Last night gave all of us practice for when we (yep, all three of us) go to Austin next month to see Phish at the Austin City Limits festival.

Oh, yeah, one story I forgot to tell when I made this original post is about a man in his mid-50's who started a conversation with us about Davis being at the concert. I put it in my BlackBerry that night because I didn't want to forget it. The conversation went like this:

50 YO Man: Check it out...a little man at the Willie Nelson concert! Awesome!

Us: Yeah! We're pretty excited about him being here with us. He loves music so much we didn't have the heart to leave him at home.

50 YO Man (in an emphatic, albeit inebriated, voice): IT'S GOING TO CHANGE HIS LIFE! Good for you!

You never know...seeing live music at Red Rocks at such a young age could change his life. Awesome!

Let the good times roll...

Dinner at Woody's.

Making our way up to Red Rocks.

At the concert. I can never get this kid to look at the camera.

Walkin' back to the car.
