Bye, Bye, Baby (room, that is)

July 2010 was a big month for us! We greeted July with anticipation of some exciting milestones...and a sort of sadness that most moms (and dads) would understand comes with those milestones. This month we said bye-bye to the baby room AND to diapers*. Two major milestones that, I must confess, when he was born, thought would never actually come. But, time passes and our babies grow. Life is bittersweet. Sigh.

*By "diapers" I mean "diapers" not "pull ups". We are still potty training using pulls ups and big boy underwear. "Diapers" is a term I use as "leverage" (for when he decides he doesn't want to use the potty. Example: "You don't want to go potty? Okay, then you'll just need to wear diapers like a baby."). Works every time! ;0)

Oh yeah, there were a few more "firsts" and milestones this month! Like...our 11th wedding anniversary, D's first night camping (in the back yard) his first movie and first time catching a grass hopper!

His first movie in a theater (Madagascar 2). He sat for 30 minutes!

Bye-bye nursery!

I admit his new rooms looks like a dorm but it's not complete yet - and our style is much more modern than typical kids rooms. Coming soon - circular red wall decals and a Lego wall. Oh, and the canvas art on the wall is a guitar print.
