Helen Keller once said that life is either a great adventure or nothing. We agree so here are OUR great adventures...

Not Wishing The Time Away
Last night I was talking with a friend who also has a little boy. We were reminiscing about how fast it all goes and how the first few weeks (months, for me) were such a blur. I told her that I thought the reason it would be so great to be a grandparent is because those first few weeks, when the babies are so tiny and new, are not fuzzy. I think it's because grandparents aren't sleep deprived or totally overwhelmed by it all. To this point she agreed, and I love her analogy....being a new mom is like being the host of a party. You have to do all the work while everyone else just enjoys being there. After the party is over you realized that you never sat back and enjoyed your guests because you were too busying being the host. Exactly! So, every day Eric and I strive to be in the moment and not wish any of this time away. So today when Davis reached for his carrots to try to feed himself I was totally in the moment but couldn't help but think that the last 5 months have already gone too quickly.
